Join Our Club

You don’t need a lot of fancy gear to get started. For nearly 30 years the Club has had its own purpose-built clubrooms at Cross Keys Reserve, Bridge Street, Essendon (Melways Map 28 K1). The club has fully equipped workrooms for faceting, cabochon work, silverwork and jewelry making etc. There’s even a small library from which members may borrow.

Regular courses are conducted to introduce you to various aspects of lapidary. Everyone has their favourite aspect of this broad-ranging, exciting and potentially profitable hobby and of course there’s always someone to lend a helping hand if you ever get stuck…whatever lapidary craft you are into. There are occasional field trips to collect material, weekly workshop nights, monthly meetings and social activities throughout the year.

Lapidary work is an ideal way to relax and can make a great interest for those who have retired or who are about to retire. It’s also something the whole family can share. The attraction of beautiful coloured gemstones is equally fascinating for children, parents and grandparents alike. Children are always welcome at our “family friendly” club.
For more information about lapidary, read our Introductory Page.

How To Join

1. Contact us to arrange a visit to our club

Phone our President, Daryl Bond, on (03) 9350 1804 to arrange a day/time that suits you.

2. Come and visit our club

See what we’re all about. You wouldn’t buy a car without a test drive, and we don’t expect you to join a club just on the basis of a website.
Check out our workshop facilities, meet some of our members and hopefully cut your first cabochon. Wear your old clothes and sensible closed toe footwear.
If you like what you see, and still feel lapidary is for you, we’ll be more than happy to have you as a member.

3. Join Up

Download the Membership form below, or easier still simply collect one on your visit to the club. Your initial membership is $42 per person.
This is made up of a one-off joining fee of $20.00 plus an annual membership is $22.00.  Children from 8 – 17 are covered free by a parent’s membership.
