Don’t miss the annual Essendon Gem Show in April

Be at the show!

Essendon Gem Show is held in April each year.

The Essendon Gem Show was held on the weekend of 22nd and 23rd of April. Members of the gem club, other gem clubs and the public took the opportunity to see what our club has to offer.

Our club is open to both adults and their children and family members from as young as eight and as old as eighty may attend. We also strive to make membership affordable and children (8-17) enjoy FREE membership with any adult (parent/grandparent/carer) membership.

The Essendon Gem Show is held in our clubrooms at the Cross Keys Reserve in Strathmore. Access is via Bridge Street (off Pascoe Vale Road) and there is ample off-street parking. We are conveniently located to public transport, just a short walk from Strathmore Station.

In the car-park (weather permitting) and under the verandah there were “tailgating stalls” – a traditional lapidary activity but a recent innovation for the Essendon Gem Show. There were some great bargains (as well as fun activities for the children).

Inside our clubrooms and there was the main Essendon Gem Show and more friendly traders, also the showcases of our members work as well as our extensive mineral collection on display.

Throughout the show, members were on hand to answer any questions and to demonstrate faceting and give tours of the other workshop areas.

As always, the light refreshments which our show is famous for, were available throughout the weekend.

We also offer a Show Membership Special which gives you a bonus 2+ months membership if you join up at the show.

For more information about of 2017 Essendon Gem Show please drop by the club or go to our contact page.

Of course you don’t have to wait until next April. Simply drop in for a tour and a coffee at anytime during workshop hours.
